The age old tried and true method of ignoring them.
I would love to have relived my high school days again, it wasn’t too too bad. Might’ve have had a rough start for the first few months of freshman year, but that was to be expected. The rest of the years was fine, all things considered.
It was my middle school years that I honestly am better off forgetting, aside from a few good childhood highlights that everyone else would remember. Things like how decorated for the holidays the school got, halloween parties, special activities and other things. But I don’t miss the humiliating points and the struggles of having to put up with antagonizing people.
Yeah because by that point, men weren’t allowed to have feelings. Men had to be…Men who did MAN things. Working on cars - MAN thing. Drinking beers - MAN thing. Doing lumberjack or other fields of intensive labor - MAN thing. There was no room for these things called emotions because that made you a BOY and we need to separate the boys from the men! That was the kind of rhetoric that was instilled in male society for decades up to that point.
And it took someone like an animated character like Kenshiro from an anime to show people that it’s actually okay for guys to have feelings. In a show where he does an awful lot of manly things.
7th Generation of consoles was the beginning of the end times. It was the beginning of the practice of DLCs, preorders, early access and microtransactions. Oh and how much they relied being online.
And how they later market on later CD players as “now comes with 30 second anti-skip!” which barely worked.
Lemmy - please don’t be a place where you’d allow instances and communities that revolve around pissing, shitting and probably cum drinking or god forbid blood drinking. There are sadly r/piss and r/poop that cater to the sickly minded. They’re not fetishes. They’re for people who’re that far gone.
Only fucking reddit…
It seems to be used by people who cheat, want to be discreet and maybe practice scams.
I do find the idea exhausting to register more accounts just to see content that I otherwise could see on a different instance that hasn’t been posted yet. We’re in an era of the internet where you need a stupid account just to read an article now. No more accounts, please.
All I say is that if you’re gonna get into some sort of business such as being a landowner, take the responsibility and shut up or get the hell out.
Messengers I’m not on, like Kik.
People trying to replicate the Reddit experience. No, going around being a passive aggressive memelord asshole is not what we need. It isn’t because we don’t have a sense of humor, it’s just that yours suck and it’s partly the reason why we’ve left Reddit. In addition to other people bringing around Reddit-like behavior that toxifies other communities.
Just like there are IRL boomers, now we’ve got armchair internet boomers who’s gotta go around “telling it like it is” and we’ve just seen this example. Yeah I disagree with the whole ‘that’s how the world is’ rhetoric, because it sounds like whomever it comes from, tells me that individual doesn’t like the idea of change or progress. Like, we should all just continue eating this shit sandwich to appease their little cynical perspectives on life, the world and society.
Screw that, they can sit there and be bitter about everything around them. We’ll leave them in the dust.
With recent drama and inter community issues, the honeymoon phase of this place is officially ending and how we move forward is entirely dependent on how we respond as a community as well as what people using this platform as a whole want from it. You get what you put in.
Please, spare us the dramatization…
“They were great because I didn’t have to put up with you”
That’s like saying “I don’t want Google to spy on me anymore! So from now on, I will use Huawei devices and Tiktok!”
Subscription model, everyone hates those.
People being constantly antagonized by their enemies.
Because if realizing that a sycophant billionaire actively destroying something every week isn’t convincing, then you’re kinda complicit.
No.
I’m one of the few people who’s been growing up and having had been enamored by the progression of technology. But I’ve always been let down by how for every step of that progression we achieve, it’s been mishandled and held back because of the people we currently have who are not used to it or don’t care.
And if I make it to 70, I would be hopeful that we finally have governments who’re full of people that have had familiarity with technology, to finally take hold, regulate and embrace these developments. Rather than where it is now, where every tech company is rushing and already have established vacuums of power, because of how they dance around with a very non-tech savvy government.
tagging good and bad users so that you know them in the future. You could color code them to know instantly if you thought they were bots, trolls, or friends easily.
I didn’t know you could do that. I just went by karma count like if I saw a comment or post made by someone but they were -10 in karma by me. Then yeah I know they’re someone I didn’t like from what they posted and anyone in the plus, were someone who’s posts I liked from.
That’s quite a tall order. The options are already there and that’s to directly go to a merchant’s site and buy through them.
But if they’re going to decide to primarily list their store in Amazon or Ebay, there’s really not much one can do about that.
“Here, I just want a space where we can just talk about the idea of talking about what we would like to talk about!”
