I feel similar and here I pay about 11€ for a movie, 14€ if it’s 3D (which most available viewings are) and any popcorn and drink is also overpriced. Though I would say I could afford it technically, the bigger factor for me avoiding the cinema is the other people. I had too many shitty experiences in my life with people hitting my seat, being loud, being ill and coughing the whole movie, stinky people, etc
I do use AdGuard on my phone, but it worked for me. Good to know they‘ll be back ty.
Wait, did it die completely? I knew they lost the domain, but did they not change to anywhere else?
I‘m starting to come to that conclusion too, or at least I noticed it seems like a curse for myself.
I wouldn‘t, but I also don‘t care if my family dislike me. So if you want to not pay for the uncle, you probably should move out first. Then you can be free from the likely negative social consequences coming your way. Though maybe if your dad is the one in charge, you can live there AND not pay. I‘d talk to your father on it first anyway and see how he thinks.
Cause moving out also means paying rent, so less money for savings too. So overall, is it cheaper to pay and keep the peace with family or cheaper to pay rent? Or can you get out of it somehow by teaming up with your dad? I‘d think on all that and whatever feels best to you, that is what you do.
If a cheaper worker came around, they would kick you out without a moment‘s hesitation as well, so fuck it.
Lol maybe it needs to be rephrased, you know like childfree instead of childless. “Partner free”
I was quoting someone else
You getting so triggered over me merely using the word tankie shows you‘re not just about “talking about wars”, but something more nefarious, which I don‘t really care for or about.
I also don‘t think the entire nation is shit about China by the way, mainly the way the government repress wrongthink and block half the internet and kill people for protests is from my perspective SHIT. Now, judging by your style of “discussion” this will upset you even more, so I prefer to block in advance. Have a good one.
It‘s kinda why I never warmed up to Twitter, it feels more focused on everyone posting their random thoughts on daily life and building up some public persona.
Anyway, I do enjoy their comments sometimes showing up in threads around here so it‘s not all bad.
I‘d enjoy it if they both lose money/attention and more of it went to the devs and admins of all these instances I like. Unlikely, but I can dream.
Another #wednesday another day of work, can‘t wait for #friday to come around!
-Mastodon user probably
Makes sense, he does seem like he’d have an inflated sense of self-importance and he can see all the eat the rich type of stuff on Reddit.
Tankie is authoritarian communists, so basically China/USSR/dictatorship fan. Corpo is from Cyberpunk to mean like businessmen/executives, but I like to use it for kinda hyper consumerist/capitalist people too.
I personally do think there is more to people than their political ideologies usually, even if I get upset with some of them for it.
I agree and I do have a feeling like it‘s a geekier crowd, similar to Reddit 10 years ago when I first went there.
I don‘t feel like it myself, but feel free to try to get through to them of course. I do want more people here, but I‘m also ok with it not being that many and especially not all of the thick headed ones who need a billionaire to tell them what to think.
It‘s like Twitter basically, but since it‘s also in the fediverse there is a bit of overlap where Mastodon people can comment on Lemmy/kbin stuff too anyway. Usually they have something like @LostCause and hashtags like #mastodon and so on in their comments, that‘s how I typically spot them.
So their growth is relevant for us, but you don‘t need to make an account there.
Funny thing is my comment was about kbin, I just mentioned Lemmy and Mastodon as an interaction, but that is their main talking point anyway, the other ones was “too complicated” and “looks shit” and some more. They clearly don‘t have any understanding of open source or forking, so I didn‘t even bother to explain.
Also I don‘t even wanna know what ideology spez or Zuckerberg subscribe to, probably something fascist too and TikTok is also owned by tankies basically, anyway no sense in fighting that and I regret I tried, just glad I got this space with all of you to enjoy.
