So far it’s the other redditors talking about reddit like they’re the crazy ex stalking what reddit is doing and judging them for it.
omg reddit is getting rid of reddit gold, they’re so going to fail now and everyone i like will come to the same lemmy instance as me
Having not witnessed anything myself, I feel like this is exactly it.
But is it microwave oven safe?
Youtube is definitely great but in the same context it has made certain things way more difficult to find solutions for. Either you have videos that are way too long for simple how-to videos or way too short/vague for others. Also, you can’t just print up a video when doing some more complex repairs. Took me forever to figure out how to remove the master cylinder for my clutch because every video kind glossed over it.
“It has been fine” is excellent marketing lol
Sounds like you’re the prime target for tmobile home internet. I use it as a backup to my fiber and when I take my camper out and it has been fine.
I think the tech illiteracy of younger generations will be part of the problem. Everything will be dumbed down to the point where it doesn’t make sense for us. I’m noticing it with myself in a lot of new applications - menus are confusing because of the weird ass icons and the lack of control for a lot of things.

In my area they’re knocking down the “affordable” homes to build luxury and everyone is also trying to do everything to stop “affordable” housing. I say “affordable” because everything is still beyond what today’s “middle class” can even fathom to affordable and what they’re knocking down to build on is already pricing people out.
Gentrification doesn’t improve the lives of the people that already live there - it displaces them as wealthy individuals move in. While the idea of improving a poor or ghetto neighborhood is nice, it’s not so great when the people living their are just priced out of their homes and forced to relocate.
Hate fast food, but it has been a real chore to cut it out of my life. That, and soda. Ive had my fun with drugs and never got addicted or dependant, but fast food and soda are things that have negatively impacted my life beyond just physical health and weight. It’s a real accomplishment went I pass a fast food place while slightly hungry without stopping in the drive through.
Tbf my lemmy usage will only go up because of sync, so maybe my money should go towards both.
As a joke, I told my wife I’m buying an S2000 as my mid-life crisis car next year. Turns out I wasn’t joking.
I didn’t like it until I realized its users are called lemmings.
Also, lemmy is just the software, you can start your own and call your website whatever you want and have it interface with whatever you want.
I do hate the word “fediverse” though
I can’t even estimate the number of reddit accounts I have/had over about 13 years or so, but right now I’m at 1 lemming and when I lost sync for reddit, I had about 8 accounts i regularly used.
You mean broken hyperlinks, right? I’ve learned to just have everything archived and point to that instead.
Sounds like something that should have been shared while you worked there…
Surprised they didn’t have free wifi, but at least they had a solution. Upside is less waste, faster menu updates, and not touching dirty menus… downside is convenience.
