The Early Access Program for Rider 2023.2 is in full swing! Earlier this week, EAP 6 introduced AI Assistant to Rider. This time around, we don’t have any big reveals. We’re instead focusing on minor
Loving the new AI integration. Excited to see how it will evolve over time. Only thing im still really missing is Code With Me (or something else like Live Share so i can pair program)
I was kind of impressed of the precision of the advice given - it perfectly explained various FP patterns used in my code, and correctly concluded that it could not be refactored to be better/simpler/more generic, but suggested some good readability renamings. My general worry is that AI tools will hallucinate and/or just provide random or sub-optimal/average solutions.
Do you mean Live Share with an AI, or just as a feature for pair programming with humans? Doesn’t video conferencing tools work well enough for that?
Most screen sharing tools come with functionality for allowing another person to take control of mouse/keyboard, although it can be a bit laggy compared to more tailor made solutions.

Yeah, they have a lot of issues with this because rider is built differently than other JetBrains IDEs. It’s asynchronous IIRC.

The latter. Yes, screen share works great if you just want to let others see your screen, but i still miss them being able to edit the code with me.
