    That’s hilarious, but even if they’d used an example with something that the dog could actually understand, it’s still bunk, because all of that “alpha” stuff is based on junk science. Those people trying to “establish dominance” are just bullying their dogs for no good reason.

      I agree. It’s all about patience, respecting and trusting one another. Most of my pups have been rescues and I’ve always found that this works the best when it comes to proper training.

      The dog I mentioned was incredibly aggressive. I was not told this when he was given to me. He was smart as a whip and such a joy to train, but the smallest things would set him off and it was scary. He was a very large German Shepherd.

      I was at my wit’s end trying to get him to stop being so aggressive and my former vet suggested this training facility… it made things so much worse. It took me years to get him to stop that behavior and while he had a few hiccups here and there, he was so much better and lived a long, happy life. I miss him.
