Some guy I knew due to a mutual friend. He’s the “Sigma Male” type, and is commonly known to make claims with no basis.

Two reasons for the decision:

1. He kept arguing about religion pulling sources out of his ass and would not produce said sources. He’s younger than I am, so I was kind of trying to educate him in healthy discussions… I told him that you cannot make claims without producing sources. His response, " It’s a simple Google search. I have work to do. You search for it yourself."

2. Sometime during the same conversation, he made the claim that the entire LGBTQ community is delusional. Entire. I mean, I would understand why someone would think so about the whole “identify as something something” stuff… It’s hard to get any tangible understanding of it beyond the fact that they do not feel like they fit the body they were born in. But all of it? Gay people? Intersex people? Their thing is quite literally a physically and biologically tangible source of information. Like, REALLY?!

And guess what he says?

“Yeah it’s all bullshit. I was a part of the community for a while. I was confused. But now I know that it’s all bullshit.”

First of all, he definitely was NOT ‘part of the community’. Secondly, in the absolute rare chance that he was questioning his sexuality and identity, just because he came out straight, doesn’t make everyone else bullshit. Like what the fuck?!

Anyway, this is why.

If it starts out as good as you say, it’s going to take a lot more for me to block than one odd comment. People are complex.

For me that breaking point was the “I always hated you for 10 years” essay out of the blue after I refused to read a book in our book club by a Nippon Fascist. I was polite at first saying you go ahead it’s not for me, but when he pressed I explained why I thought it was a shitty book by a shitty author about a shitty subject. I went for a bantering tone with it but I guess he took it quite personally, even though I was only criticizing the book. I guess he had kamakaze close to his heart. In response I got this startling confession about his lifelong hatred for me. Yeah, alright. If you want to push Nazi propaganda on your book club and shit on your friends who push back, I think we’re done here, the 2016 brain worms have won out.

I still reached out recently offering to mend things but, probably for the better, no response yet.

Not sure about the delete part but I block and report when people are being bigots

Did some custom art for a guy, one of a kind stuff. He put in a order, i finished it, i got payment for it, then i shipped it to him. The first time I shipped it to him it got marked as delivered, but he claimed it never got there. Address was completely right, nothing looked wrong. So in good faith I spent another 20ish hours remaking it, reshipped to the same address at no cost. ‘this time’ he got it. I said it was a one time favor.

Maybe 2 weeks later he has more business. I finish the product, ask for payment before I ship. This time he’s like ‘hey can you front me it this time and I’ll pay you once I sell it’

Blocked. Deleted. He starts messaging me from other accounts, he didn’t mean it, he thought I was someone else. I didn’t believe him we had a discussion about the build process before he wanted another handout.

People not willing to engange in honest discussion or debate. I.e. ignoring what you say and just reapting their talking point again.
