We switched our cat from dry to wet food when he became diabetic years ago, and he quickly recovered. No more insulin. Not special expensive wet food either, just the stuff from Costco.
Wet told me to give him 3 units of insulin with 1/4 cup of hard food (I use Iams hairball care) and 3oz can of wet food (I use fancy feast) twice a day 12 hours apart. I can only hope one day he goes into remission
