  • Am I allowed to have a few? Because I can’t pick just one haha: Priory of the Orange Tree, Jane Eyre, Lord of the Rings series, A Song of Ice and Fire series (yes, even after the season that will not be named), Fingersmith, Rebecca, Redwall series. There’s more, but I feel like this is too many already 😅

I have Devil House in my to read pile! I’m going to put it at the top of the stack now

I mean people using libraries for the most part don’t really understand the decimal system and probably wouldn’t get the significance of it being in the 000s - especially the 000s where it’s sandwiched between computer science and knowledge structure & other general works. When I’m compelled to aquire a bs book in any category, simply because patron demand is high, I prefer it be in the same section as factual information so it may be drowned out a little more. (And I say aquire, instead of purchase, since those types of books I try to rent so they can be returned after it’s been taken out by those requesting it and it never makes its way into our full collection)

I do like the meme though! This format is pretty great and we do indeed need more librarian memes, I don’t mean to get all pedantic here haha

but for skill based reflexive games? Gimme Nightmare :)

Agreed 100%. I played Beat Saber for the first time this weekend, and had to jump up to hard mode because the easier levels were so dull. Those types of games definitely are the best example of ‘if it’s too easy it’s boring’

Playing on easy instead of challenging yourself just go get through it is making the games worse for you

This definitely depends on the person, I love when games have easy modes. Games can really make me anxious and stressed, so being able to lower the difficulty improves my enjoyment immensely. Don’t get me wrong, I love challenging games too, but that challenge can ruin it for me sometimes too - especially if it’s a single player story mode.

  • My biggest aggravation are people who cut into entry lanes whilst in traffic just to get maybe ten cars ahead because their time is soooo much more important than anyone else’s.

I had a much longer list of other things that I had typed out, but I cut it out. I don’t want to be putting more negative out into the world than needed.

So yes, despair is constant, seeing people have so little regard for their fellow human beings. We’re all sharing this world, we’re all trying to exist. Though that’s not to say it’s all bad, there’s a lot of very selfless things people do every day too. It’s easier to see the negatives, but there’s definitely good out there too.

  • Sucker Punch (2011) (technically not made in my ‘adult’ life, since I was still a teenager, but semantics)

I genuinely love this movie and don’t understand how it’s rated so poorly. Sure it’s got that Zack Snyder-flair (but I think it actually works for this??) and it can seem a little gratuitous. but even then to me it seems like it’s done to make a point instead of just ‘hehehe hot girls in short skirts’. The action is awesome, the sets are cool af, the soundtrack is phenomenal, the cast is great, the plot is interesting, (and sure, maybe me being a mega gay means I’m giving this a higher rating then I otherwise might have) - it’s just overall a great movie to me. I do wonder how much of the ratings is a symptom that all women lead films suffer from review bombs by some upsetti-spaghetti men, but even I think this movie is not generally liked by most.
