  • I do have this problem with the monitor I hook up to my laptop for gaming occasionally. It’s looser because it gets plugged and unplugged more commonly and can occasionally slip out of I move my laptop to my lap so I can lean back when my back starts to ache.

But this is not a common situation I think

  • Every person who goes by an American name because their real name is just to hard for their American friends, Co workers and neighbors to pronounce. Pretty much everyone in the US who says Cordon blue, Ganache, bolognese, prosciutto, Bon Marché, Coq au Vin, Verde, the name Guy, and dozens of other things I can name off the top of my head.

  • That’s what kills me about people who rag on Americans.

We order our dates the way we say them, and we use a temperature system is a great way to describe feeling heat.

I’ve got no defense for imperial measurements beyond scooping up a cup of flour is easier than dumping it on a scale.

But people spend more energy shitting on the cultural norms of Americans than anyone else (especially Europeans) and then spend a lot of time telling us we have no culture.

  • And this is what it is for me.

The customization on sync gets me so damn close to what I had with relay that I’m just happy.

I used others, but they were heavily inspired by Apollo and the customization to make them closer to my muscle memory wasn’t there. I’m happy to pay a talented developer who can give me my preferred experience.

And I really don’t get this raging choosing beggar entitlement to people labor for free

  • No, there’s a free version. With about 1/100, the ads the official Reddit app has.

I wouldn’t demand a haircut for free, or commission a painting for free, or ask someone to a fancy restaurant, then demand we go Dutch.

Sync has a developer who I chose to compensate for their work. I would’ve done the same for connect. I would like people to get compensated for the work they do. It’s great to get something for free, but I am not entitled to their free labor.

But somethings are worth paying for.

  • Funny story about that movie. My husband reached about it for weeks. So I got on Facebook and found Seth Rogan’s page and wrote him an email at 3 am drunk ripping him a new one for making that movie because my husband had been relentless in his disappointment. I naturally assumed this would be an account run by a social media team.

It was not. He apologized and friended me. Nicest fucking guy. Got to see a glimpse into his life. He still heavily restricted who could see what he posted, but I still got to see things like wedding photos before they were published in the papers. I held onto my fb account for 2 extra years because I felt shitty about that email.
