The real American Dream

It doesn’t matter how many people or what kind of people moved from Reddit. I was there 14 years (Digg 4.0 exile here). They have a new group of people now. My wife and kids now use Reddit, but it’s not the same type of user interaction I experienced there in the past. It’s very much a mix of scrolling through TikTok videos and sparse reading of comments on an /r/askreddit thread. It’s casual browsing and video content. There are still some holdouts, which I think mostly contribute to what’s left of the comment section, but that’s it. It sucks, because I miss the discussions there. Lemmy kind of scratches that itch, but the content is slow to come in, and the comments so few. I’m doing my part, and I am much more active here than I ever was on Reddit.

Ideally, you can return it from where you purchased it.

Wait, you said stopped working after you opened it? Why did you open it to begin with?

Nintendo returns are a bit of a hassle but doable, but if they can’t guarantee a 1-1 replacement, you might be on the hook for a swap (I don’t know what this takes to do or feasibility of it), or, may be sell the replacement and use the money to buy an exact replacement online?

I can’t think of any other avenues to get you whole. I love the Switch, but joy-cons are trash.

You somehow managed to more efficiently cover the entire point of the copypasta about Jenny from Reddit. Bravo.

Don’t forget the company meetings where leadership says things like “this is the best quarter we have ever had”, along with “we need to work harder to stay competitive”. Sigh.

This. Use friends, colleagues, people you know, that know you well and would be able to answer questions about your personality and work habits. The rest of the answers in the comments are not good advice.

Toys R Us

I have too much nostalgia in my veins for Toys R Us, but I want to say that when I was under 12, there was nothing like it.

You sound like you’d be ok with physical theft from a mom-pop-shop as long as you get something for free. It’s not in the spirit of the piracy community.

It’s not that LTT can’t afford piracy, it’s that pirating content that is made using ethical and honest business practices and treats their employees well (at least from what it appears) sends the wrong message. Piracy should only be used when companies give you a reason to avoid using legal methods of accessing their content.

I’m thinking it may have been Fallout 76 that I’m thinking of, but I haven’t played since launch.

Is there a video game that uses this church as part of a map? I feel in my bones that I have been there in a game before.
