The sheer coverage of every subject on Reddit is crazy. Yesterday I was getting infuriated at a stupid plot in the 3 Body Problem, so I ddged it, and of course I found 3 Reddit threads sharing my frustrations. What a shame it has to get enshitified.

Steam itself has some kind of DRM. You need to login to Steam to access the games you bought (sure there’s offline mode but then you can’t download your games, update or buy more, so it’s only temporary convenience). If Steam dies one day, so will your Steam games library.
However, the service is great, so it’s not annoying.
Same as ChatGPT is better web search.
That supposes to have a clear idea of what you’re going to code. Otherwise, it’s a lot of time wasted to constantly rewrite both the code and tests as you better understand how you’re going to solve the task while trying. I guess it works for very narrowed tasks rather than opened problems.
I thought you asked why wouldn’t both be felt by users. Otherwise, sure both can be displayed, the proportion gives an idea of the dynamic of a community.
Because when you open and later refresh Lemmy, the quantity of new posts you will see, which gives an idea of Lemmy’s activity, is proportional to the absolute number of active users, not the proportion of active users per instance.
