How do they get 40 years? The first Ninja Turtles game was released on the NES on May 12, 1989. That’s only 35 years by my reckoning.

We used unused punchcards to make flashcards in elementary school in the late 80’s / early 90’s. I guess the county bought a bunch and had to find another use.
And now I realize the primary definition of flashcard has changed since then, from study aid to digital storage.
A three digit xkcd, that one has been around a while.
I hadn’t heard the Mac story before. I wonder if it’s legit, as I don’t think the Mac, or the Lisa before it, ever had the equivalent of a My Computer icon. Disks appear directly on the desktop; dragging a disk to the trash can ejects it if its removable media, and the only type of disk the original Mac had was a 400KB single-sided 3.5” floppy drive.
You misunderstand. HTTP 502 means the server is running on an old Gateway computer, and its capacitors are starting to go.
While there were a ton of GI Joe toys, the series was a few years too early to get beat-em-up arcade games the way that the Ninja Turtles or the Simpsons did. This new game looks like it’d fit right in at a Chuck E. Cheese in the early 90’s.
That comic level looks like a really cool gimmick level.
Genshin Impact had that problem on launch. After a few months they added a setting to reverse (fix, in American terms) the OK and Cancel buttons on controllers. It was especially bad on XBox controllers on PC, as originally the green button was cancel and the red one was OK.
I’m assuming it supposed to represent Arlington’s location within the original square District of Columbia, before the Virginia portion was retroceded back to the state.
There goes my hero.
I do feel a little sad that Into the Spider-Verse didn’t make the list. That movie was groundbreaking on the technical and stylistic front, with a rock-solid script to boot.
I swear the people in unit 402 are illegally subletting their place on AirBnB.
