My boss sent me a “k” when I asked him if I could change my schedule in 3-4 line message. He’s a great guy, he’s just very efficient in the way he sends messages lol. So now if I get asked if I can come in earlier etc. I just responded with a lowercase “yes”, but I might try an emoji next time. I really love this job

Since the first second their video released I thought to myself “what a bunch of delusional apple wannabes”. From the way their marketing videos are shot, to the way the product looks, it just screams “WE WANT TO BE APPLE”. Except their idea was shit from the beginning and they had probably gotten VCs to give them money so they couldn’t just can it. It’s literally a 700$ microphone with a useless projector, and a 24$ a month openai subscription. I see a lot of people saying “this could have been an app” and I have never seen something more true. This is literally peak silicon valley bullshit.

The problem is people are not addicted to their phones enough. Strapping a screen to everyone’s eyes is the solution, and it even conveniently allows advertisers to show unimaginably large billboards without paying for the physical space…

I think VR headsets have a place in gaming, content consumption and maybe prosuctivity (if I can plug to to my computer and use it to display countless huge monitors). Having them be a mainstream fashion thing that you wear in public is not for me. Their objective is obviously to achieve something that Google Glass wanted to do, but the tech today only allows for huge headsets. Sadly it will come soon enough

I’d go out of my way to install the necessary plugins on vscode before I’d use Eclipse. I can’t even figure out how to open my damn project that I accidentally closed FFS!!

People on here and on mastodon are really pessimistic overall I’ve found. I still need to go to Twitter despite all the bots and engagement farming going on these days if I want to learn about new product releases or the newest possibilities of the newest technology that was released just yesterday.

I feel like the only news that get shared here and that actually get engagement are the bad ones about the war in Ukraine or in Palestine, or about anti-minority laws but we never see the good news like the fact that France added abortion as a constitutional right.

Luckily I do not think they will be able to add Ads to federated posts since ads need to be explicitly disclosed, and that means they can be easily blocked even at the server level

Gatekeeping the fediverse while also wanting it to stay alive and to not be “EEE” my meta won’t work unfortunately.

This is really cool for blogs, especially with for having comments without relying on a 3rd party company that collects cookies and requires a central account

I had to get an extra 32GB of RAM for my computer for my mobile development class, now Im stuck at 35% usage at most with 48GB… At least is was just like 90$. Better than my PC freezing every 5 minutes

Bluesky’s official app sucks ass, that’s already enough of a reason for me to not use it for the time being. It really is terrible, shitty web view banking app level of terribleness and speed
