The effects of light might be skewed because we have gained some survival instincts from evolution, and the natural daylight goes through a cycle of colours that could have direct subconscious reactions.
I generally do agree with you though.

Bizarre ruling that’s for sure.
In my head, either they are liable and need to pay up (not in my opinion but that would make much more sense) or they are not and need to pay nothing.
This shit is weird. It’s like accusing someone of helping steal your smartphone and then wanting them buy a pack of Oreos to make it even.
Literally illegal. Discussing crimes doesn’t equal crime, so there’s no reason for them to requeust IPs. And at least in the EU you aren’t even allowed to disclose information related to your person.
I disagree.
Both sides are bad, no matter who is currently the aggressor.
Now because there is aggression, the aggressor has an obligation to stop it, and we have an obligation to force a stop in the conflict as well. But that doesn’t make the other party less Bad in this. Both sides killed a lot of innocent people, both have inhumane ulterior motives and both are supporting further escalation. But ofc if there’s only one party doing the fighting, then that’s the party that acutely needs to be stopped.
This distinction is very important to me, because you are not suddenly the good guy because you stopped killing civilians. You are just not actively doing war crimes which means we don’t have to intervene because of you anymore, which is at least one less reason. But you are not holy because “this year it was only 300 war crimes”.
Idk if this is a hot take, but imo the war in Ukraine is pretty clear city while the Palestinian and Israeli conflict his an infinite list of wrinkles and nuances.
It’s far less controversial to say the former is Russia’s fault than it is to say the latter is either Palestine’s or Israel’s fault.
These sites only support big providers like YouTube etc.
OP’s obscure website might not work through these online video downloaders as there’s no native support for authentication.
If it’s streamed in chunks it won’t work. It’s about a 50% chance from my experience. I guess that’s where downvotes are coming from?
Idk why but this is so good.
What if we fucked in the hentai van?
I hope they conduct interviews through third party and kick out some of the perps. Madison gave us a glimpse into an unliveable environment and they need to re-evaluate everyone.
They all said they are pushing out videos far too quick, and Madison Reeves pointed to instances of working for free on weekends, being overworked, and problems with payment.
I’m not saying it’s definite, but it smells like there’s some truth to it.
Dude you want the Reddit protests to work but also that they don’t affect anyone? That’s literally the opposite of a protest. The important thing for a protest is to show how much someone depends on something to level the playing field for negotiations.
These are the exact things that make the protest effective. You admitted it yourself: because of this action, you had to find your information somewhere else. Isn’t that the point of the protest? Driving people away from Reddit to show the admins how critical their userbase is to their success?
I mean I get why you’re mad, but if you are pissed at spez and where Reddit is heading too, this is the wrong thing to be mad about.
Rather be mad the Reddit holds such a monopoly on this kind of knowledge that you can’t find it almost anywhere else.
I mean tbf you never know
Might be on their list but low priority. Might be too early into development to check out. Or maybe they literally don’t know about about anything other than mastodon?
Wait they actually had to debunk that? That’s funny af
This is a great idea. If they get a hunch that this is true (maybe approach with evidence?) they have a bunch of different tools and they can pressure ppl to look into this.
But if there is an investigation ongoing don’t they have to say so? I mean I know they shouldn’t disclose contents of it, but I suppose that’s something I’d assume to hear then.
“stop wasting police” sounds remarkable recognisent of some different police corruption stories.
I do think the only way you can be sure this is made right is to publish and let ppl dig into it. First metaphorically and then literally as well of course.
We’re not there yet, but: stability. Once the development is reaching a stable release, even a few big servers shutting down will have no cascading effects on the rest of the network. It will just be some communities that are gone and that’s it. This also means no outside manipulation, no single attack vector for the network. The truth is, the best things about it will be the things that we won’t see anymore.
A bit hard. That’s very dependent on the alternative though.
Lemmy: I tried it a few days after the Reddit debacle and I never looked back. I really want this to work but the main thing is that I can still doom scroll anyway so I got that going for me, which is nice.
Mastodon: I didn’t use Twitter anymore but then I wanted to again. So I looked into mastodon. It’s been chaotic af. Couldn’t find ppl I wanted to follow because no recommendations and you kinda have to know who you’re looking for. Also there’s no likes, so you don’t even know which tweets were more interesting and that didn’t help (I know this is controversial, but imo these are things that will always make it hard for the average social media person). I kinda just gave up and until this gets easier I won’t try again. Don’t have the motivation nor the patience for that. Not worth it.
It shouldn’t be.
Unfortunately everyone is trying to make it political which just restricts gay ppl and damages politics in a brand new.
If being gay was just a trait again, we could skip a lot of this circus. But until then, honk honk.
Same, I missed the beta by one day and I’m so hyped
