I’ve used dark chocolate chips before, yes. I think they were Ghirardelli.
And no, not joking. Chocolate without the fat/sugar is bitter, and bitter flavors can add a lot if they’re mixed in correctly.

It’s not supposed to be sweet chocolate. It’s coco without the milk and sugar, and it will make almost any chili taste better.
That’s not completely off, but it should be dark chocolate, not milk chocolate or whatever M&M’s are made with now. A little dark chocolate is great in chili.
The iPod was discontinued in 2022. I’m guessing there’s already a lot of kids who have no idea where the term “podcast” comes from.
The Famicom Disk System, which uses a kind of floppy disk for the Japanese market NES, had kiosks where you could copy games onto disks. The last of those kiosks were removed in 2003 It overlapped the Game Cube.
I’ve been here since Windows 3.0. I’m not sure when this mythical not-shit Windows was. There were a few I could live with, but none that were good.
1970s build?
Windows are terrible at efficiency. Yes, even modern ones with three panes and filled with argon. A building with minimal windows is generally going to have better thermal efficiency than one with lots of them, and that started to be really important during the 1970s oil crisis. The result was a bunch of schools like this that look like prisons.
If you get some local mural artists to paint the concrete in bright, whimsical images, it fixes a lot.
Mutual aid. Start building up a network of people who help each other out.
It’s funny to see Godzilla in weird contexts.
No, I don’t think that’s a particularly good reason for it all, either.
It wouldn’t be my first choice, but it’ll probably do the job. Depends on what you want to do with it. There’s fewer people choosing this path, which means that when things go wrong, you’ll have fewer sources of information to help.
Some old Dell office PC with a good amount of RAM and an SSD would be just as well.
Shape of the table is wrong for that. Usually these things happen as an architectural oddity. There isn’t room there for a full bench, so they made it work.
I must live my life according to the opinions of 4000+ dead people. Or assuming they had.
For every fuck that’s censored, I shall say fuck twice.
When drinking with Zefram Cochrane, Deanna Troi had no idea what tequila was. She went to Star Fleet Academy in San Fransisco, and even without warp drive and transporters, that’s not far from the major agave growing regions on Earth. Cadets gonna drink whenever they have the chance, and they’ll seek out non-synthehol stuff if they can.
Agave isn’t being farmed sustainably right now. It could also have been hit hard by Star Trek’s WWIII. It’s possible agave didn’t survive into the 22nd century. Zef may have even been going through the last bottles of it.
Yes, that’s correct. Fuel cell efficiency is over 60%. The best gasoline ICE is around 50%, and hydrogen isn’t going to be much better.
The problem becomes especially apparent when you stack the end to end efficiency together. Grid -> battery for battery EVs, and grid -> electrolysis -> fuel cell for hydrogen. There’s a couple of different ways to run these numbers (are you using 120VAC or 240VAC or DC, for example), but when using like-for-like comparisons as much as you can, batteries tend to win at efficiency by a lot. Running hydrogen through an ICE is only going to make its biggest flaw even worse.
Edit: there is a recent breakthrough in fuel cell efficiency that might put it on par with batteries. Note that even if it works in production cars, a fuel cell would be turning an electric motor, not an ICE. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISuUlc8widc
Speed bumps are often not so much for speed control. People slow down for them and then speed right back up. They don’t work for that.
It’s often to encourage people not to cut through neighborhoods that happen to connect to other neighborhoods. They want you to take the main road, not the shortcut.
They also slow down emergency vehicles as much as everyone else. There’s some arguments that they cause more deaths than they save. Not sure on the actual numbers for that, though.
I do the same with lawyers. Some of the Trump lawyers have been so bad that I question the Bar exam’s ability to weed out the worst.
It won’t. Hydrogen has terrible efficiency even when fuel cells are in the pipeline. Putting it in an ICE only makes it worse. It’ll have some racing applications, but that’s it.
And I am on the National Shitposting Council that oversees Lemmy.
I have a wooden bowl kinda like this, but I also inherited it. It’s kinda nice. Has care instructions somewhat similar to cast iron. Get everything off of it and cover it in oil.
