TIL Muditā is a dharmic concept of joy, referring particularly to an especially sympathetic or vicarious joy, or the pleasure that comes from delighting in other people’s well-being.
A classic nerd from Norway.

Crash my car into a rock wall at 30 km/h. I’m glad I had dropped off my passenger because the passenger side no longer had leg space.
For me its less of a contract and more of a built-in instinct. I feel physically ill if I think I unfairly annoy or hindering someone. I dont get why others feel like its only a contract, one which they can break if they want to. But they can and I have accepted it. So I dont despair, they are only human (and so am I).
12 ANGRY MEN - What REALLY Goes On Behind The Scenes In Court
(I just couldnt leave the title of the movie out of the clickbait title, it is too perfect as it is.)
Another favorite movie: Try Not To Have A Heart Attack CHALLENGE - Young man argues hes immortal
The five elements you need to save the earth! You wont believe what the fifth one is.
Yes, you might, if you’re caught by an unreasonable cop. Its a very general law that relies on a fictional amount of “common sense” .
The 3 criminals that got hit with that justice system got away with kidnapping a person and underfeeding a trapped animal before they were finally caught red-handed stealing sausages and cake. They spent only a few days in a minimum security prison, got free soap and a haircut and food and support, before they were freed and given jobs after proving they had changed for the better.
Wish it was this easy in our world. But we are trying to be as close to it as is sensible.
My agoraphobia says “not between people”. So first or last seat in a row. Distance to the screen is irrelevant.
Emotionally: Ice cream as a kid once. Offered to me after being denied it the day before as punishment for something I didn’t do. No amount of ice cream can ever make up for having no way of defending myself against false accusations. No way to avoid punishment because I was guilty until proven innocent. Its a shit feeling.
Fish and potato dinners in the Norwegian Kingsguard army camp. I despised all fish meals for the next 7 years, I couldn’t stomach the smell of them. Poor fish didn’t deserve getting killed for such a fate.
It was great up until the last 15 minutes, I remember. And it was beautifully artful. But I was a bit colored by the comics, the villain and his motives was just so much better there.
Loved the characters, but the movie plot felt like a clipshow of a bigger plot that didn’t fit into 2 hours. I haven’t watched the anime but it probably was.
I loved Ron Perlman’s Hellboy, but the Hellboy 2019 movie was the best. Felt more like a comicbook pulp story and less of a 2000-ish action comedy. But the public and critics has spoken; if it ain’t a standard superhero action comedy flick, it is a “soulless” reboot.
What!? Hackers at 31%? The one with young Angelina Jolie? The critics gotta be some uncultured swine. That movie was gold! It was The Matrix type of cool before The Matrix. It put the punk part into cyberpunk for a lot of kids.
Also its a bad influence: Got kids inspired to learn about phreaking and phone systems.
That people (both the CTO and devs) eventually asking ME for suggestions. And acting on it even if on projects I’ve barely touched while working there. They been through multiple years of university and some have been through multiple jobs. I’m just a guy who knew a bit programming when I was hired as phone support 13 years ago.
I love the team though. It was just me and the CTO that did dev for many years, and now we are 7.
Stealing water from neighboring clans. Driving cars without spikes.
Furries. I seriously don’t get the hate. Its just people with artsy hobbies. And if some of them put a bit of adult stuff into it too, why is that a problem? Theres enough other weirder sex stuff going on in the world that isnt hated.
And actual nerds was hated back in the 90s. I didn’t get that either. They do nothing but doing their hobbies far away from you and sports and mass social stuff. Lot of them was just introverts. Cringy comedies was made about them, and that continues today with stuff like The Big Bang Theory. But in early 2K nerding was suddenly “cool” and everyone used the word and watered it into meaninglessness.
Anyone who enjoy being in the spotlight. Like seriously how people are mobbing any (failed) attempt at attention seeking. Why is it that nobody is allowed to stick out? Is it envy? I got no envy for them, I enjoy not having too much attention on me. But people who enjoy it should be allowed to do so without being hated.
I would NEVER have trusted my life to a bluetooth or wifi connection. Any IT-technician who do isn’t an IT-technician, imho.
Eventually it starts smelling again, like old book smell. I love that one too. I’m not as much a fan of the smell from glossy paper nor newspaper paper, but I don’t hate it either.
I loved Van Helsing. It was seriously brain dead entertainment but action was great and the effects were good. I loved The Brothers Grimm, that came out the year after, better though. Horror movie, comedy, action. I passed that movie over back then because of the critics, so took a few more years until I actually got to see it.
