I think there’s something to be said for being able to show somebody you love a thing that you love for the first time, so I don’t necessarily want someone who’s so intelligent that they’re jaded to the world. However, after dating a man who was on the level of “Winter lasts as long as the Christmas season, spring starts in January,” I realized that doesn’t apply to basic facts about the world. I also don’t want someone dumb enough to try and reject those basic facts about the world when questioned. I’m not really looking for a specific level of education, just someone who’s interested in learning more about the world.

You’ll be rejected from a lot of things on the basis of having no credit, because in the U.S., it is considered worse if you have always paid everything up front and on time than if you consistently borrow and make continual payments. Now, that doesn’t have to be a credit card per say, it can be car lease payments, student loan payments, medical debt payments, my landlord reports my rent payments, but credit cards are one of the easiest ways to build up your credit score before you say, have to spend an extra $1500 upfront for an apartment on a co-signor service because my credit score wasn’t considered high enough for an apartment I pay $500 a month for.

obv nobody is forcing you to get a credit card and rack up a lot of debt, but you will face a lot of struggles in life that someone who makes regular payments on a credit card will not.

I’ve already got my passport, and my partner is getting their’s later this year. I’ve always wanted to finish a masters, and it would be a great excuse to be anywhere else.

Here’s the thing - most people aren’t actually interested in trying hard drugs. The people who are, will probably obtain them irregardless of legality. Given that, what is the harm in mass legalization? It keeps money out of the cartels and back into the community via taxation; it ensures the drug is pure and safe to consume with no additives; and for the individuals who afterward decide it is not for them, they can get the help that they need without worrying.

I have to imagine you’re not an American, because yeah, millions of Americans legitimately want to ignore science completely. They’re pretty loud about it too.

Don’t know if it quite qualifies, since it’s sitting at a 61% audience score, but my favorite horror film Event Horizon has only a 33% critic score. I find a lot of good horror movies sit at or below the 60% mark on Rotten Tomatoes though. If a horror movie is too well rated, it’s probably not very scary and not interesting to me.
