Yes, it’s explicitly made to compare to people with developmental disorders who are even to this day bullied with this word. Don’t use it.

This is already happening even with Aaa games. The initial purchase doesn’t seem to stop them anyway.
And no I don’t worry about it. I think if there’s motivation we’ll figure out the way. People won’t just ship making or playing good games.
That hijack is one of their worst blunders though as pirates are very romanticized in culture. They just made us look way cooler than the computer nerds we are.
I’ve been at this a long time 😅
if so, then check the other posts in that series.
I think it’s buggy with the latest version of lemmy. I run it and it keeps throwing errors and the dev is not responsive on github
If that excites you, you should check out the Schneider 8088. Monochrome orange CGA, oh yeah bby,
Nah that’s not it. Twitter is filled with engagement bait and right wing weirdos peddling low key sexism and racism. You can’t even see the people you follow anymore.
counterpoint: If developers aren’t forced to “eat their own dogfood” it becomes difficult to see some issues and know what to prioritize.
I also asked among the contributors if you should accept any form of money or NLnet funding or anything in that regard. Our common conclusion was: NO. Because we are doing it for fun, asking money will only create a situation were you might even feel more obligated.
In regards to NLNet, you should know how it works. NLNet doesn’t give you money upfront and then expect stuff. You decide on a list of tasks to do and then complete them on our own time and get paid for each you complete. This reduces the pressure, as you can choose to handle these tasks as frequent as you want.
Then again. with NLNet getting defunded by EU, it’s likely most new can’t receive funding anymore.
Recently, a very dedicated contributor did left Mbin sadly without any announcement. This person is still being missed to this day
Man, I know the exact feeling. We had a similar case in our FOSS project of a valuable contributor going suddenly MIA, even blocking us out of pypi in the process. It hurts.
Listen, it’s not our job to make Google search result better. They could have easily parsed apub sites like lemmy correctly of they want, but they’re so enshittified there’s low chance of that. But that doesn’t mean we should be trying to fix their shit.
Same with my Hyundai 8088 IBM compatible. It’s an antique piece now ;_;
Old enough to have seen the fall of USSR but not old enough to understand its significance at the time.
Daym we must be of similar age then
By the users, for the users. Almost all they instance admins are just like everyone else. We just know some it infrastructure.
Sounds like a worse lemmy 😅
Ah, so just apub groups then, just a page to find them
Honestly I think there’s pretty gold interop already between lemmy and mastodon. There’s some difficulty with seeing the the images from each other primarily and a way to reply to cross post / boost a mastodon note into a lemmy post so that replies are visible by the op in mastodon would be a killer feature, but everything else works.
I kinda agree that following mastodon accounts is out of scope for lemmy as the concept of following the doesn’t make sense within the link aggregate concept. It would require lemmy devs to add a whole microblogging architecture for follows to make sense.
Remember that many people they don’t consume YouTube primarily in a browser
