Antz was released the same year so it’s less a sequel and more a competitor. As for economic class oppression themes, it goes even further.

It is not. It’s a scene from A Bug’s Life.
I don’t think Lemmy is the right place for sharing the anti-semetic Happy Merchant caricature.
It’s fan art of the show’s characters. (Incidentally, many shows have official comic adaptations anyway)
Ever considered it might lead people to the wrong person?
Not sure who these ‘people’ are, or how the given image could possibly do that, but considering that obstruction of this investigation is cool and productive I fail to see the problem.
Forget.
About.
Him.
hahaha
They are a hero. They deserve celebration, commemoration and to hold a clear place in the minds of citizens, like the myth of Robin Hood once did. Remember him.
What harmful information does that famous video frame shown supply, and who is it being supplied to?
Yes. All hail Cowbee.
ah, only off by 3 years. That’s pretty good for science fiction.
Joining an existing community is usually easier than starting a new one.
There’s also the problem of management. Lots of Lemmy comms are abandoned and, while there are some I would like to exist, I just do not visit regularly enough to be responsible for moderating more and more and more communities across the fedi. So I don’t create new comms.
Yet, it feels like an uphill battle.
In a way, it is. It’s also much further uphill if you consider it a solo task. These are absolutely valid things to vent about, even if they are solvable.
(I felt a lot more like this before the reddit API exodus)
lol
guess its fine for you to make claims but not fine for others to make counter claims. the free market of ideas at work.
I don’t understand why it would be acceptable to submit generated code in the first place. I’d say it’s functionally asking others to complete your assignment. Sampling code excessively and without attribution is plagiarism.
And seconding that concern about people not even learning how code works. This was an issue even before chatGPT, when people would by-default look up stack overflow snippets or existing algorithms instead of thinking and training their mind to be able to solve actual real problems, but now it’s probably much more widespread as an easier way out. If the school is able to do a code exam in an offline environment, even with manual docs available, it should weed out the ones who didn’t learn pretty quickly.
fwiw, I suspect Hexbear users expect snark more. It’s basically the default mode in a bunch of comms.
The easiest way would be to quickly look up the ones you don’t know yet. Many have Wikipedia pages and the others usually have good home pages explaining what they do. But as you can see, there’s a wide range for hosting different kinds of media and discussions.
I would take the job just to make sure we can sabotage it. And I’m not even affected by their adblocker detection; I just yt-dlp
and NewPipe the videos.
What does that have to do with Cory’s concerns? They don’t want to build an audience on Bluesky because that promotes Bluesky, a dangerous place to build up, in the view given by the article. It would be neglectful to let it gain enough power to become a Twitter 2.0, we have an opportunity to prevent us repeating history.
The more important thing is to never pretend your vote is a valuable political action.
If you think there’s a point to voting and picking a lesser evil, go ahead, but at the end of the day you must admit that no viable candidate is adequate. Both major parties are the playthings of the owner class, not representatives of the population. The last 4 years have demonstrated that clearly; the house always wins because the game is rigged. The point being, voting cannot and will not solve these systematic problems.
If you want to stop the descent into hell, you have to actually participate in political organization beyond the electoral circus.

That’s serious stuff if true. I would often the upload date to avoid reuploads and regurgitated (and lower visual quality) content. It’s also extremely useful to know how outdated some advice or guide is.
Their account is on lemmy.world so I’m not sure how it would be treated. We, however, are not.
* ahem *
Rhetoric: down with the bourgeoisie, eat the rich, sodomize the land-owners, impale all people who have more than 25 reál in their pocket, literally murder all human beings regardless of their political beliefs.
