Correct, but only one mountain can be climbed at a time. We have more reliable food sources than housing sources right now.
Those rentals should be a social project not a profit driven one.
I said achieve wealth. These people aren’t generating large amounts of personal wealth by withholding a basic human right from someone
Choosing to use a basic human right as a form of income is scummy. All landlords are scum, whether they are rich or not.
You should never achieve wealth by the oppression of someone else. Housing is a human right, not a salary.
The rent that pays the mortgage he couldn’t afford to pay. All rent is is paying someone else’s mortgage.
If you buy it, live in it. Stop contributing to the housing crisis. Greed got us here, it certainly won’t get us out.
Rentals should be socialized, not owned by corporations or private citizens.
So you’re keeping home ownership away from someone who can afford to pay your mortgage is what you’re really saying.
I feel like you watched me grow up. For a long time I was smart enough to pick things up naturally, I was even offered to skip grades.
Then the math got complicated and I didn’t know how to learn it. I went from being the smart kid to being the stupid one in remedial math. Being smart was all I had at that point, so when I “lost” that, I lost everything in my eyes. I was stupid and I was never going to be anything because of it.
I ended up getting my GED as an adult and I now have a promising career in insurance- so I didn’t really lose everything, but when I was 15 it sure felt like I had.
Ah, that makes more sense actually, that thing definitely has more than 2 legs.
Is it next to a bird? That looks like a bird.
You mean you don’t miss your tape deck eating your cassettes and having to wind them back into the cartridge with a pencil? Weird.
I’d add a bean bag chair for good measure.
A built in, small walk-in refrigerator with TARDIS doors. I want it to be bigger on the inside.
I see you, too, are a master of the midnight monster fights. And it’s not that my bed or pillow are bad or uncomfortable either. It’s painfully infuriating.
19/f/Cali was my go to answer for that, even when I was 15 in the middle of nowhere in Alberta.
That is entirely dependent on what app you’re using. I can’t say for sure what the web browser looks like cause it never lets me log in. And it was made pretty clear that the “points” mean nothing, they are simply a byproduct of people wanting express their like or dislike and have no effect on your experience on Lemmy. Karma absolutely changed your Reddit experience.
When COVID hit I had a now or never moment and took the now. I took it a couple times actually. Got me a real career in a new province out of the deal so I figure I ended up for the better. Sometimes the choice is obvious like it was for me and you need to jump on that shit before you never get another chance.
