EVs are older than ICE cars.
The market definitely went ICE for decades, but how mature is mature enough for you?

ICE engines improve all the time too. Are you similarly hesitant to buy a car with one?
What a relief! I was worried she might outlive her grandma. Thanks for tying up the cliffhanger.
Which ruins the surprise.
That’s what Jesus said when you slid out of your mom’s front butt.
Do you have any idea what jars of teeth go for these days???
Did a little digging and it seems like the main barrier to entry in the way of plug and play would be setting up a Meta account and using your smartphone to set it up. From what I know about Meta automatically making an account for every human they are aware of and the fact that all Androids (and iPhones?) have Facebook pre-installed with pre-loaded wide permissions, that’s effectively the same as handing Zuckerberg all of my personal information by buying a Quest. While researching, I found it incredibly difficult to find anyone serious about privacy discussing the matter without getting shut down with a “Who cares? They have your information already just give them more.”
Soft pass until I know how to do it without leaking my life to the Meta gods.
I would love the Quest and have multiple if it weren’t for the Facebook requirement.
Same. Every time I get a captcha I remember it’s because I don’t have Google sitting on my shoulder watching literally every move I make on my browser.
VPN and strong anti fingerprinting probably.
That sounds kinda like what any OS should do in the history of OSs…
I know for a fact they have wait() code in there. If you try to do anything on a thread the OP has blocked you, it takes 10s or so minimum.
It’s definitely a different line for everyone, which is why I asked them to self-evaluate to challenge their own thoughts about it.
It could be they’re ready when a standard battery is 300+ miles with a half hour charge up. Could be 500+ with 10 minutes to charge, etc. until we get to a place where it’s probably far outside our lifetime and it’s suddenly a hard no to EVs and they may have had no idea.
I just chafe a bit at vague “not yet” with no clear goal. It’s the bread and butter of bad faith arguments against EVs and I don’t like to see it spread, intentionally or not.
