I love chicken, pork, and beef. I have tried the meat alternatives and I like most of what I have tried. I would be vegetarian if it honestly wasn’t so expensive sometimes. Not to say meat isn’t also expensive.

I work with a guy who is a vegan and honestly. I don’t get the hate towards the life style. Guy is as healthy as they get and morally more sound in the area of food than I am.

What am I missing on Vegan hate or even vegetarian hate. No one imposes on me. Honestly, I feel like they have something figured out I dont.

  • Nah, there is a culture here and there was before the reddit move. If there wasn’t then I could just say, “there are now more reddit users and you guys are like reddit users.”

However, most Lemmy users who were here before are going to say, “this isn’t like reddit.”

Also, it’s not about disagreeing with opinions because as you have said that is the internet. It is about seeing people who think they are techy and and that there is one way and one way only. I will give you some examples: Linux is way better than any other OS, FOSS is the only way because why would you buy something, Ew 3 dollars a month for Google drive the cloud is just too expensive, just pirate everything that will stick it to big corporations.

It’s not a disagreement to opinion because these are things I also believe to some extent but on Lemmy they are extreme thoughts to the point of outright ignoring users asking about something and Lemmy downvoting and ignoring their question. So now Lemmy becomes more inclusive. There is also a, “actually,” vibe here and a, “Im not like other girls,” culture that most Lemmy users think they are so different from Reddit that they are actually just different kind of jerks.

Oh, then there is the, “yeah man, I know everything about privacy and security.” And those types of Lemmy users have no idea how much of a nightmare privacy and security is on the Fediverse in general.

So sure I will prop up a punching bag and take a swing but this is the internet if you feel like the punching bag and this felt like a hit then it probably means I’m not too far off.

Isn’t Telegram Russian owned as well?

Lol, god Lemmy is so different than Reddit.

Asks a question, gets down voted. only two comments from users who bothered to educate. Lemmy really just a community full of knowledge gate keepers that think they are better than Reddit users. Reddit users would have at least provided and article or some knowledge.

After doing some digging Wikki does say that it owned by two Russian brothers. One who sold a social media platform of his after a Russian infiltration and Russian government pressure for him to do so.

I think I will just keep using Signal.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telegram_(software)#%3A~%3Atext%3DHistory-%2CDevelopment%2CRussia_after_resisting_government_pressure.?wprov=sfla1

I think I am about done with Lemmy. I have seen post after post of smug users with shitty ways of thinking like that killing more people is going to solve the world’s problems. Or that one platform is the only way to be. Or that they more about privacy and security than anyone else.

Lemmy users are just as shitty as the rest of the Internet in their own ways.

  • There are great Android devices and IMO I think Android is better than iOS are this point. However, obviously, not in every category. The best performance and battery life I think Apple personally has locked down at this point.

My personal opinion is that iOS makes certain things to much of an annoying little hassle that just drives me away with each use.

I used to sell cellphones. I like to make it a point that switching from iOS to Android can be a difficult switch. Graphene is designed to cut everything Google out. It is a great option for privacy if that is your thing. My only advice would be to get more familiar with Android if you plan to switch and aren’t familiar already. GrapheneOS is more than just switching to Android.

  • It’s all good. I get that the confusing part is really when you save something locally versus saving it in a browser. Like if I am working on a document it will save it in document but I will go to save something on the web and it will put it in Downloads but I will go looking for it in Documents.

I have tried to get better at that by basically just double checking each time.
