Came here to post EveryNoise. Absolutely incredible site that just fucking WORKS. Can’t believe I went as long as I did without knowing about it.
We probably don’t agree.
I probably said something you didn’t like.
You look lovely, by the way. New shirt?

Innertune. It hooks into YouTube music without any ads, no account creation required, offline listening, and it’s free. One of the best apps on my phone.
I’d prefer to use my vote with stupid optimism that things may get better instead of ‘punishing’ society because people are, for the most part, dumb as fuck. I believe things can improve. I’m not going to let self destructive sentiment win out even in dark times.
He’s been flying helicopters for like 80 years.
You couldn’t pay me enough to go back to that cesspool. Three years free of it, and have only experienced positives. As another user also stated, I’ve got social media blocked on the DNS level, as well as no longer using reddit.
Kbin and Lemmy are pretty good, but I still limit my usage.

I live in Australia, and I hate the lack of seasonal variation. Almost every day of the year is sunny with a varying temperature between 15C-45C, or overcast/humid. On the west coast, it rains a whole lot in winter. Visually there aren’t a whole lot of environmental changes, and as an Aussie, the year is generally split into “too hot, less hot, cold, less cold, and repeat.”
I get the appeal of seasonal stability to those in the northern hemisphere, but live here long enough, and you’ll probably miss the way the passage of time seems to pass when each quarter of the year brings with it refreshing scenery and liveliness.
I’ve always wanted to live in a country that experiences and celebrates the changes of the seasons and all the visual beauty it brings, and truth be told, Aussie culture and pastimes don’t appeal to me at all. I feel very alone here.
I was a member of What.CD back in the day, and holy fuck, the elitism was insufferable… but the amount of genuine lossless music was unlike anywhere else, and the site was so well organized.
Exactly. The issue with incels is that they actively do nothing to improve their chances in the dating world, and then instead of looking inward, blame women for their own shortcomings. “I’m a stupid moron with an ugly face and big butt and my butt smells and… women should still want to fuck me because I’m owed sex.”
Fuck these people.
I’m only 31, but I’m going to do all of these things anyway.
Are everyone’s dicks really pixelated?
I mean, yeah. The only ‘social media’ I have is kbin, and I check it once or twice a day. If it went anywhere, I wouldn’t really give a shit, as I left all the major platforms years ago and adding one more to that list wouldn’t bother me. Don’t group me in with Twitter (x?) users because I called them out on their addiction, when I’ve already done what they seemingly can’t.
These people are addicted to such a degree that they’re functionally on the same level as literal junkies, just without the physical damage. Social media was such a fucking mistake, and I don’t think we’re ever going to recover from it within our lifetime.
Ted Kaczynski was right.
Spent the day recreating my Spotify playlists on Innertune. Thank you SO much for this recommendation, it is exactly what I’ve been looking for in an alternative. There’s even a heap of shit available that I can’t find on Spotify.
What a crazy fucking read. Thank you for posting that.
That actually sounds fantastic, cheers for the recommendation!
Spotify is literally the only subscription service that I haven’t cut ties with, because as much as I hate its horrific data harvesting, I’m running it on GrapheneOS with legitimately next to zero privileges in a sandbox, and for what I’m paying, I truly do feel I’m getting my money’s worth. I use it every single day, and while I have all my music stored locally (as in legitimately scraped and downloaded, not ‘downloaded’), I only did so as a precaution just in case Spotify decides to fuck things up and I also choose to cancel it as well.
Honestly, a lot of first party GameCube games have aged incredibly well. Mario Party, Wind Waker, Warioware, Smash, Sunshine, Luigi’s Mansion etc. all still look fantastic today, resolution aside.
