I never thought about this but this happens to me occasionally. I often put my arm under my head and pillow for support and comfort. Maybe once every couple weeks I’ll wake up and it’s numb or fully asleep.
I don’t have an answer but I’m 34, this has been happening my whole life, and I haven’t noticed any issues.
I think I have both your problems solved. If money isn’t an issue the bureaucracy is a nuisance but not inhibiting as you can pay someone to file all the appropriate paperwork. The language barrier is even easier. I have been to Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland and did not meet a single person that didn’t fluently speak English. Not saying they don’t exist, but operating in most any western European country is very easy as an English speaker. Also you’ll pick up the language over time. Immersion is the best way to learn a language, or so I hear.
I originally read this as “what are you nostalgic about” and was confused by all the responses.
I am certainly not nostalgic about smoking sections in restaurants. Those half ass dividers that did nothing and the whole place smelling like an ash tray was not fun.
You are correct, a turret. You and my wife have the same dream. She wants to put a bunch of pillows on the nook and read.
Liftoff. I used Jerboa originally but it wasn’t super stable when I started. I also tried Connect which I liked but I simply preferred the UI of Liftoff more.

I’ve had that happen before a couple times. The worst though is when you sit down and the the shaft touches the water. It’s like a surprise ice bath and it is not fun.

It seems to be public knowledge. I hadn’t heard of this either. Yet another in a long line of companies doing shitty things and I’m sure a lot of money spent to make sure this didn’t become household knowledge.
That sucks but it’s not a dick move on your part. Was literally talking to a coworker who did that to a friend decades ago (he’s in his early 60s) and said he would basically shack up in everyone’s basement until they kicked him out. Sometimes weeks, sometimes months, living off others good will until none was left.
