  • I recently started delivering with DoorDash to add some cushion to my budget and this week I had someone buy a single two pound bag of spaghetti noodles from Safeway.

I got laid $6.75 for the delivery after tip (DoorDash paid me $4.75 and the customer gave me a $2 tip). The noodles cost 3.84 at Safeway, and $4.18 on the app, and Safeway is a zero dollar delivery fee shopping experience.

As far as I can tell, it cost DoorDash a dollar or two for me to make that delivery, and/or the customer paid a lot more than $6.75 for the noodles for it to make sense for DoorDash to take.

It was a sort of surreal experience.

  • And I deeply appreciate it.

I learned Spanish in high school, but I never really had the opportunity to use it (grew up in a very insulated community where minorities weren’t exactly celebrated and ‘you’re in America speak English was a common sentiment) and lost it. I can still say ‘your mom smells like cheese when it’su see water’ and a few other things, but any semblance of conversational Spanish is gone.

    Holy shit lmao.

It’s no secret that the Chinese government controls everything Chinese companies produce. If I’m using any digital item made in China I assume it sends whatever info it can on me back to China. This is nothing to do with Chinese people and everything to do with its authoritarian government.

Touch some grass and learn the concept of nuance you twat.
