  • Or just use your aging sponges in a rotating lifecycle. I have 4 stages/sponges at one time that slowly get demoted as they age.

    1. New sponge only gets light jobs. Scrapped clean dishes, pans that just need the oil washed off.

    2. Middle stage wear is used for stuck on foods and generally more gross dishes.

    3. Not usable for dishes, but good for counter/stove tops.

    4. Dirty jobs. Nothing food related. Floors, bathrooms, use with disinfectants.

  • Driving was a major part of my job when I lived in Boston and I drove manual. Honestly it isn’t very fun being in traffic, but I wouldn’t say it’s much worse than driving an automatic. It becomes old hat. It probably depends a bit more on how stiff the clutch is and other mechanical variables, but I would agree with another commenter here that it does make people better drivers. I would also say manuals aren’t for everybody and that’s ok, but I also think they should be the norm rather than the complacently comforting automatics that make everyone feel like they are in a golf cart rather than a large metal missile.

  • I am a guitar player first and foremost, but their drums always sounded damn good, and their hardware was always super solid. Not my area of expertise, but Yamaha seemed to never made a cheap kit because their base model kit had such good hardware and quality it was punching up to way more expensive Pearl and Ludwig kits.

The only problems I’ve seen is that they don’t have good resale value because they are China made, and most musicians don’t want to be that guy playing anything made in China.

Also good choice on the FG. I’ve played a lot of acoustics and honestly yamaha acoustics are astounding. If I were to pick my top 5 acoustic brands, Yamaha would be solidly at #2. My next acoustic is going to be a Yamaha trans-acoustic. It’s either that for $800, or buy my dream acoustic which costs $5000.

It’s people like you that make me look like an asshole. Every morning I wake up at 3am to squeeze orange juice, make sausage gravy, biscuits, waffles, 5 omelettes, 40 pancakes, 6lbs of bacon, hash browns, buttered toast, and right after my son comes down the stairs, puts his ball cap on, grabs a single piece of bacon, heads out the door in a rush, I chase him down with a PB&J he inevitably always forgets. But it’s not like I want to waste 40lbe of food per day. Some days I just want my son to sit down and eat the 40lbs of food I prepared. He may think I’m overbearing but I’m really overcaring.

  • A year ago I made a sarcastic comment which most people understood as such, except one other commenter. I took the opportunity to make the most heavy handed sarcastic response I could where I said democrats should vote for SpongeBob and we should all be more like him because he’s a hard worker.

Apparently that was the comment that needed the /s.

The real problem, in my opinion, is that when there’s so much toxicity in a network that people need the /s, the network isn’t capable of handling sarcasm anymore. At that point hate has won.

  • On a tangential note, this is the same reason I will not buy a phone without expandable storage. The cheapest statistic of a phone is now the difference between a $800 phone and a $1200 phone. For $30 I can double my storage, but that is not ok for manufacturers, especially when they can make $5 a month for 1G of space, that requires internet access, from millions of people. Learning that most people have to pick and choose memorable pictures and videos just because they run out of space is horrendous to me. The companies know that data storage will increase over time for every user, and they are banking on everyone banking their data in a more insecure manner, with them, at an ever increasing rate. I refuse to have my memories and heartfelt data held hostage by bullshit companies that can’t even support their own devices for more than 5 years.
