Because the manual transmission changes the entire experience of driving it, whereas a manual choke or ignition only changes starting it.
Some people (including myself) just find it more enjoyable to drive a manual. I feel more connected to the car, like its doing exactly what I want it to, and I feel like I’ve done something when I’ve driven home rev matching gears perfectly.
It’s just about preference at the end of the day, but I do find manuals more fun.

The way I use it is to help an important/helpful post/comment reach the top of the frontpage/comment thread as I think other people should see it.
I use it differently to upvoting.

My thing with all this is people know what you mean by LGBT, that’s what actually matters. It’s easy to remember and understood by everyone, so to me, its what makes sense to use. 2SLGBTQQIA+ without context I wouldn’t have a clue (although I’d probably figure it out from context), it’s too long to remember, and you couldn’t count on everyone (especially older people) being able to figure it out.
