While I guess what you’re saying is true, I haven’t been confronted with such things during my 1-2 years on Lemmy. It also depends on the communities you subscribe to and political ones are probably more subjected to violence than others.

I wouldn’t mind paying a monthly subscription to the creators I enjoy in Peertube.
I’m already doing it through Patreon, but doing through Peertube would be better as these creators would see that the money is coming from a Peertube user.
Yeah Lemmy is really a perfect replacement without any big downside. I really enjoy the community and the help you can get from it.
I’d be really happy about anything bringing more people on Lemmy and the Fediverse, so I wouldn’t complain about it.
Maybe I’m not seeing the big picture as some people seem to be scared of such a move.
I was talking about channels, reviewing games and so on.
Not the odd homemade video…
Something that you could follow long term to keep being informed, like IGN or gamespot for instance.
I still have to really try it, but last time I typed « PlayStation » and there was almost no result…maybe it’s just the lack of content though…
Give what you can and if you can’t it’s also okay.
I’m only giving 1$ a month to the Linux Experiment, but, according to him, that’s way more than what he would get from me watching his videos on YouTube.
I’m also donating 100$ a year to many open source projects, but I might have to give up because of financial troubles too…
Some of them can be supported through Patreon and they’re getting way more money than through YouTube.
But it’s through that it lacks content and it’s also difficult to find content on peertube.
Is it also on iOS? I couldn’t find it and I’m stuck on iPhone because of work.
I’m using peertube quite a lot to follow the Linux Experiment on Tilvids and it works really well.
It’s true that finding other creators to follow looks difficult and the search result aren’t giving you much.
It’s a shame as it makes me keep relying on YouTube for everything gaming (PlayStation) related when I would want to use it less.
Maybe it’s gonna become easier when the upcoming mobile app is launched.
Yes it would be nice to have more people on Lemmy to have more activity in the smaller communities, but otherwise I don’t think it’s so important.
Wouldn’t it be possible to create a Lemmy instance on Peertube (linked to our Lemmy accounts) just for this reason?
I know the videos would take a large space, but as peertube is a video platform, it wouldn’t be such a problem I guess.
I also don’t understand why you would attack these instances. It makes no sense to me…
I’d be interested in checking peertube content as I’m trying to find alternatives to YouTube, but I can’t find an iOS app for that. Is there one?
I want to be able to watch these videos on my phone, not only on my computer.
Memmy is really good 👍
Just the fact that you can browse Lemmy without seeing advertisements is really nice.
Still, the systems depends on the will of individuals to maintain servers and it’s a bit scary to know that an instance could be gone in an instant if the maintainer doesn’t want to pay for electricity anymore.
Yeah clerk.
What’s the point on commenting on something when you know you’re gonna be the only one doing it.
So I guess a few more people would be nice on Lemmy.
