I’ve found the Mastodon experience much more isolating than Twitter or Threads, because it intentionally does a lot less to help you find interesting posts and like-minded posters.

Are end user reports abysmal? I’m having a lot of fun on there, and my colleagues and acquaintances all seem to be enjoying it too.
The whole point of the Fediverse is that people can use whatever platform they like to get content from Mastodon, Lemmy etc.
It doesn’t make me a better driver, it’s a continual distraction. I recently switched from a manual to an automatic car and I now have far more available headspace to pay attention to the world around me.
