As one of the “young” people at least when it comes to the Beatles, I don’t hate the Beatles but I absolutely don’t get the hype living decades after their big run. A few songs are annoying because of overplaying. That colors the band to a lot of people my age. I find them mostly boring and seeing the hype at the time is wild, but so will the people 20 years from now for my music. When people feel like it’s over hyped then they “hate” it. I find most of the Beatles music as inoffensive and a little boring. Don’t hate it but don’t care for it. I think most haters probably feel similar but being controversial makes the conversation more interesting.
I also want to know more like the previous commenter. Automatic screening that I had with an old pixel phone was the best thing Google ever did for me back with a pixel 3.
I know that old media/tech platforms have a use that can be helpful. Where should I donate unused/functional tech that can be more than e-waste that isn’t something I want to make money from? If I’m sitting on floppy discs and know they are going to help someone, who do I give them to?
In college I had support to do something very similar to engineers without borders just under a different name but in conjunction with the program. They required a certain donation level to ensure that the work we did had the needed materials paid for and could compensate the local workers involved. That’s what I was told. I wasn’t auditing anything but it seemed above board. I was able to engage with doctors without borders members while there. All were committed to the cause. Many were from the same part of the world if not “state/province” and giving back after they were able to make more money elsewhere. Just about all were hardcore. We have 5000 to treat in 7 days type of hardcore. Bedside manner wasn’t what you’d expect in the US, but it was about helping as many people as you could as effectively as you could. Truly eye opening though. I can’t say anything about the organization, but the people who were first hand there either gathered the donations or donated themselves and went there to make a difference. I respect the hell out of those people.

Are you talking about Germans or Americans with your comment?
Sounds like we need to rebrand the original word “socialism” to something without the Nazi continuation. I’m thinking humanism (I’m worried that might turn into complete disrespect for any non-human form of life) or human dignitarian. I’d love to hear better versions than what I just came up with on the fly.
I got it, but in our current age with what’s going on we need to be clear unfortunately. We will not accept fascist/Nazi views and should do everything possible to remove them from society. Tolerance of intolerance (specifically in the context of this post) does not fly. Those views are not welcome in modern society. They should never be welcome in any society. This isn’t for you SeaJ. It’s for anyone who could even contemplate that ideology. If you sympathize with Nazi ideology you are not welcome here and “here” is Earth. Go subjugate Pluto and get off my planet!
I might be the 10th dentist but I grew up with the fake stuff and enjoy it far more. I didn’t understand why all of the “nice syrups” tasted awful comparatively.
