Love how you counter concrete, material facts like “guaranteed housing, employment, and childcare” with fact-free scare mongering like “political pressure” and “control over the media.”

There’s never any analysis about what this shit really means. “The fucking stasi” gets thrown out there like “the boogeyman” without even a thought towards how the U.S. security state violently repressed a nationwide movement against police violence in 2020, or how right now that same security state is violently repressing people protesting the genocide we’re supplying. You’re supposed to belive the stasi is the worst thing possible without ever digging into how it functioned, and certainly without asking how it compared to other states.

Taiwan hasn’t even been “democratic” (in the sense of “murder all political opponents to the left of Reagan for 40 years and then start letting people vote for the party that did this”) for more than a few decades, so even at face value this barely counts.

You want more of them?

The pure (libertarian) socialists’ ideological anticipations remain untainted by existing practice. They do not explain how the manifold functions of a revolutionary society would be organized, how external attack and internal sabotage would be thwarted, how bureaucracy would be avoided, scarce resources allocated, policy differences settled, priorities set, and production and distribution conducted. Instead, they offer vague statements about how the workers themselves will directly own and control the means of production and will arrive at their own solutions through creative struggle. No surprise then that the pure socialists support every revolution except the ones that succeed.

If opiods were as cheap as this person claims and as deadly as cops claim, the U.S. would have dropped them on Afghanistan, not encouraged the locals to grow them.

You can return empty bottles in some states, but it’s for 5 cents. The guy I spoke to last Thursday about his fentanyl addiction told me he needed about $100 to get his fix for the day back when he used. It’s just absurd.

It’s such a comical lie, it’s almost insulting how bad it is

I work with homeless people, many of whom have substance abuse issues. I’ve heard of all sorts of ways to get money for drugs (by the way, $2-4 isn’t going to get that done, not even close) and have never heard of anything close to this ridiculous.

It’s unbelievable. As someone else pointed out, with selling them you’re looking at $40, not $2-4, for standing at an intersection or in a park. And you don’t need to do it 30-40 times to get your fix.
