yep, totally :)
i dunno what’s so good about it but I feel infinitely better browsing lemmy than the R platform. really does remind me of that 2007 era of internet times where it was just fun and there weren’t these massive social media platforms all over the internet.
Fediverse is reminding me of all of those good times and thank you to everyone that’s here for making this happen. I’ve not seen a platform like this actually get the userbase it needs
I’ve been enjoying looking through all the different instances people are commenting from, seeing if there’s any new communities I might be interested in. It’s a bit like a treasure hunt. My feed has definitely been getting pretty active now that I’ve subscribed to a few different instances.
The link works. I came across that one earlier, and there’s definitely some cool stuff there.
Personally I’m more interested in photography than AI art (or even human art I guess). Still waiting for something to fill the void left by /r/EarthPorn
Word, maybe you could start by joining a photography community and waiting for that to gather enough steam to branch out into something more specialized.
It’s a little addicting, right? Sometimes I’ll be sitting at my PC and realize I’ve just been hunting for new communities the whole time instead of browsing the ones I already sub to.
Yeah, back when almost all content online was just people having fun on barebones websites, in any random forum or corner of the web they could. Nobody was trying to become an influencer, churn out content for profit, or tiresomely push politics. The internet wasn’t real life.

Might wanna check out !imageai@sh.itjust.works, it’s one of the finest offerings from our humble instance.
Lmk if that link works, I’m still figuring out how to link things appropriately.

Sub.rehab, lemmyverse.net, and browse.feddit.de are all very helpful tools for finding new communities.

Yep. I miss those times. At least we can relive some of it here.
