I love the top 4, the others are kinda meh, except Hollywood, which I found outright boring. I’m sure it was meant for movie buffs and other people more familiar with the real story. People already into Hollywood and feet probably love it.

Also, I was having hard time choosing between Dogs and Pulp for 2nd. Having said that, they’re both on par with Basterds, it’s just that my WW2 interest makes Basterds appeal just that micron extra.

And an unpopular opinion: Kill Bill is overrated. Interesting cinematography, but apart from that I find it completely forgettable. The only reason why I cared enough to watch both movies was to figure out the deal with Bill, which I guess was kind of the point. But if someone had told me who he was and what he did after the 1st movie, I probably wouldn’t have bothered with the 2nd.

It’s not as encyclopedia-like as wikipedia, but still a reasonably good source of information. The biggest annoyance was that you couldn’t include pictures in a writeup.

I moderate a few smaller but active ones. I don’t see a whole lot of bad stuff apart from the occasional garbage opinion such as [insert least favorite ideology here].

This might be because the places I mod are pretty chill in nature. I’m sure of the topic was something more volatile and spicy, such as politics, it could be a different story.

Yup, that’s pretty much spot on. I don’t really have a problem with .world myself. I do hear a lot of complaints about admin powertrips, but I’ve never used .world so I have not experienced this myself.

It’s a combination of tankies and some more level headed leftists. They do have a decent proportion of OK users and the occasional decent meme, but the frequent genocide denialism and too many tankies have resulted in a lot of blocks and bans.

I have 4 kids, two cats, and a house with someone I used to think was long gone from my life; We accidentally ran into each other again while I was visiting the old country, and then a volcano caused me to stay for a week extra, and old sparks began to reignite.

Also, my career for the past 15 years has been in an industry I hadn’t heard of before, all because I applied to something “different”, just to see. I didn’t meet any of the educational requirements, I didn’t know what the job was about, the job interview didn’t go particularly well (not poorly either, though), but somehow they hired me out of a stack of 200 interviewees.

Can confirm. The pain kept me awake the night before my appointment, so I was quite tired while having my canals filled. As soon as the dentist had given me a couple of anesthetic shots, I had to struggle to stay awake. I felt nothing during the procedure, and the only pain after was in my wallet.

I don’t remember the details, but a similar situation on a ship with people from all over the world, resulted in my shift being called “vampire shift”. It was very suitable too, as I got up at sunset, and my shift was over around dawn. I liked it that way - it kept me out of the sun.

EDIT: This was in addition to the other shifts; day shift (noon->midnight), night shift (midnight->noon), and chief shift (0600->1800). My shift was a weird one that only I had so that I could overlap with both day and night and cover for the chief tech during his off hours.
